Bertie’s History
Bertie was born is December 1975. He was initially delivered to the London Transport facility at Aldenham in London. Between 1978 and 2008, Bertie was used throughout London and Kent for public use by various companies as a much valued member of their fleets. In 2008 the bus was bought by Hadley Travel and used for private functions and events until late 2009 when Sophie purchased the bus and decided to offer his service for weddings.
Bertie’s Transformation
Bertie has undergone many renovations over his years, the most fantastic of which is the conversion of the lower deck into a mobile Book-Cycle shop! 2012 was the first year Bertie had been out and about at festivals in the South West. We are hoping that he will have many more summer outings, seeing him travel the length and breadth of England spreading the Book-Cycle word.
