Buturi is a village in Northern Tanzania in East Africa. Over the last 25 years AIDS has decimated the community leaving a missing generation. The Buturi project operates with no administration expenses and the projects participants work with the community to strengthen the community. The projects initial aim is to improve access to water and to provide education facilities; in the medium term to improve the skills base of the village, particularly in construction; and longer term to help the village develop eco-tourism
