We see Art as the wellspring of Humanity, enriching all other subjects and endeavours.
Whether it be literature, craft, music or the fine arts, we are always looking to open up spaces
for individual and community expression.

In order to encourage local creativity, Book-Cycle provides many opportunities for budding artists. From free art exhibitions and space at our shop to performance and theatre at the warehouse - there is always something weird and wonderful going on in the background.

Our DIY art exhibitions have occurred in many locations around Exeter but seem to have settled in the vast location of the Book-Cycle warehouse. Once a run down and nearly derelict site it has gone through many facelifts, courtesy of a madcap train of wandering artists and musicians.

Although in many respects it is still somewhat derelict, it houses ongoing performance, exhibitions, graffiti jams and of course mountains of books!

For a whole month a group of lovely creatures descended on the Book-Cycle warehouse and from the bits of rubbish they found lying about created an amazing spectacle. Surface Arts and EVA studios brought their creative talents to dusty confines of our book sanctuary; here is a glimpse of what emerged

You are very welcome to come and utilise the space for exhibiting your work or shows but be warned, it is still an industrial space with all the grubby aspects and cautions you would expect.

The shop on West Street is also a delightful place to put on
bijou events and exhibitions, although tiny, it is
perfectly formed!

“More things should be thought out thus" ~
book launch by Zion Lights.

Definitely one of the loveliest days the Book-Cycle yard has ever seen. A host of artists, musicians,
poets and enchanted passers-by crammed into the miniature maelstrom whirred on
by delightful chai & musical merriment.

Please get in contact if you have something you or your group would like to host or get involved with.
