We collect surplus saplings and plants from the local community and nearby nurseries and endeavour to find them new homes. We house free trees at our shop, for customers to take away and plant wherever they wish. We are currently looking for land to establish tree nurseries and permacultures for community food growing. We are presently able to collect from in and around the Exeter area, and hopefully a wider area in the near future. If you know of any plant nurseries that regularly dispose of their old / unwanted trees let us know, we would love to incorporate them in our winter tree planting schemes. Total woodland makes up 2.5% of the land area of Great Britain, 45% of the ancient and semi natural woodland that existed in 1945 has been lost since that time. Tree-cycle has been designed to both increase the amount of trees in Britain and also to integrate the public more closely with their environment. Poor woodland management and de-forestation have contributed greatly to the reduction in our local flora and fauna.
